Codename Paris - images of Sony Ericsson superphone FINALLY appear online

sony ericsson paris mobile phoneOk, I would ask that people are understanding when reading this blog post, as I’ve been waiting to see pics of this mobile phone for about, ooh, 6 months. The unofficial Sony Ericsson blog has posted, late last night, a leaked pic from a product video they’ve managed to get their hands on, and all indicators seems to suggest this is the final, genuine article.

It’s a phone codenamed the Paris. Which means that, if they stick with the name they’ve said for this phone in the past, what you’re looking is the phone I’m gagging to see…

Oh yes…

It’s the Sony Ericsson P5, in the flesh!

Ok, thoughts on it, thoughts on it… well, it seems that those photoshopped concept pics we’ve seen were pretty bang on the money in terms of what it looks like. The specs we already know about are that it sports a 5 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, the same QWERTY keyboard see in the Sony Ericsson P1, and it’s built around a sliding form factor, with the keyboard on the back.

However, this new pic also seems to suggest it has ‘hidden’ keys on the front, under the screen, which’d make them touch-sensitive keys, a la the LG Chocolate. Which is rather cool, if it is indeed true. oh, and we’ve found out since rumours started spreading, that it uses the newest announced version of UIQ, UIQ3.3. Which is great, because out of all the mobile phones I’ve played with or owned, UIQ is my personal favourite interface.

So, there you have it. The P5 (if that is what they end up calling it). It’s real. I didn’t imagine it.

So, will I be getting one when it’s released?

Erm, do you really need to ask?!
